About PharmaInsight
PharmaInsight turns the NHS's open data on dispensing and prescribing into pages that people can actually use: organisation profiles, medicine pages, and regional views, with the figures, trends and context that the raw files hide.
It is built for the people who live with this data — pharmacy contractors and superintendents, locums, dispensing practice managers, ICB and commissioning analysts, market analysts, and the journalists who cover the sector. The aim is simple: publish the same intelligence that sits behind registration walls elsewhere, in the open, where both people and search engines can read it.
Everything here is computed from public data published by the NHS Business Services Authority and NHS England under the Open Government Licence. We import it monthly, validate it before it goes live, and show how current each dataset is. How the figures are calculated, and the caveats that matter, are set out on the methodology page; the datasets themselves are listed on data sources.
